Heat pump dryers
Heat pump dryers are closed systems in which the process air constantly circulates inside the tumble dryer, making it possible to install them in confined spaces. And they don’t need an external ventilation.
The heat pump dryers works with a lower temperature than a vented dryer – meaning that there is less risk for shrinkage and you will get a more gentle drying resulting in longer lifetime for your clothes.
The lower temperature also means about 75% lower energy consumption and the possibility to dry more sensitive items.
Vented dryers
Vented dryer takes in external air that is heated. The hot air runs through the drum and the wet laundry and then the humid air is blown out of the machine through the evacuation channel. This process is repeated until the laundry is dry.
The benefit with a vented dryer is that it’s cheaper to purchase and the program times are shorter.
The vented dryer works with a higher temperature – meaning that the clothes after the program will be warm and have a more crispier dry feeling.
